IRATA Level 3 Rope Access

For experienced rope access technicians

This course is for candidates who already have an IRATA Level 2 Qualification.

A Level 3 rope access technician shall be capable of site supervision for rope access work projects.

You must be conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation, able to demonstrate all the skill and knowledge of Levels 1 and 2. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques and hold an appropriate current first aid certificate, to show that suitable emergency first aid training has been undertaken. You will have knowledge of the IRATA Training, Assessment and Certification Scheme (TASC) and the IRATA International Code of Practice (ICOP).

Course Overview

  • Duration: 5 working days (Monday-Friday)

  • Cost: £500 (excl. VAT)
  • Assessment: Independent assessor will assess on written and practical examination
  • Revalidation Period: Certification is valid for 3 years

Minimum Requirements

  • Prior to training, the application for level 3 assessment form shall be completed by the candidate and training company. This is a written recommendation from the IRATA member training company as to the candidate’s suitability for assessment at level 3
  • The candidates shall be an IRATA qualified level 2 rope access technician with a minimum of 12 months and 1000 hours of work experience (hours to be verified by an IRATA logbook and signed by an IRATA level 3 supervisor)
  • The candidate shall hold an appropriate current first aid certificate
  • Candidates need to be physically fit and free from any disability or medical condition that may prevent them from working safely
