Positive Pressure Habitats
Wood Group Industrial Services provides both ATEX and IECEX certified positive pressure habitats for use in hazardous areas.
The habitat allows hot work to be performed that would normally require the costly shutdown of an asset.
We use a modular system to create a bespoke solution that can create a safe working environment around the most complex areas. Intricate pipework, valves and beams can all be accommodated whilst allowing full access in a completely sealed area.
Our highly trained operatives ensure that the habitats are assembled to the ATEX and IECEX standards, for safe use in Zones 1 and 2, ready for repairs to be carried out, as well as provide services that you might require within the habitat itself.
Our sophisticated system delivers everything you need to set up a safe environment in one box: no additional modules, units or add-ons, thereby making it portable, light and cost effective to transport, as well as reducing set up time.
We have used high grade materials to ensure durability and reduce the likelihood of rips and tears. This makes it an ideal product for deployment in the most demanding and harsh environments.
Our system is Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL 2) rated, meaning that all safety critical components have a back-up. For example, we use two pressure switches to monitor the enclosure instead of just one. If a switch malfunctions we have a backup system which constantly monitors the pressure and will alert the operator in an emergency. This ensures additional safety for the operatives within the enclosure and surrounding areas. We are accredited to the latest ATEX and IECEX standards. Our certificate means the entire system is compliant with both regulations, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
Our product is equipped with safety switches and hazard lights to indicate if a door has not sealed properly, and we use a fast action damper to shut off the air supply quickly to prevent hydrocarbons from entering the SafeZone. The system monitors the flow going through the enclosure, ensuring that fresh air is recycled at the correct rate. The SafeZone system is designed and manufactured by our partner, Cunningham, ensuring we have full quality control over the product.
Our system also has an integrated internal cable management to maintain a tidy working environment , reducing the risk of trips, slips and falls. Also specially designed panels prevent the ingress of water in offshore or exposed environments protecting the working environment.
Wood Group can provide you with an all-encompassing service solutions within the habitat including welding, plating, pipe fitting, corrosion management, reducing the cost and time spent on performing time critical integrity activities. Our multi-discipline teams will perform all the work helping you to cut spending with no compromise to safety.
